Golf is good because it gets me close to nature and God is in nature and .......ok I like to golf so that is just how it is. God is good and allows me a few indulgences. Golf is one of them. I can't tie it all together just to make you all happy. God loves me in spite of my addictions. Golf is a major addiction and it takes me away from my family but (listen family) if they would all learn to golf maybe we could be the first missionaries to Pebble Beach. Anyway, I like golf and Love God. So yesterday i said I would tie it all together but some things just can't be tied together. (Help Danny or John or Blake or Scott, I need to feel good about golfing) Let me tell you the best time I had on the course last year was the SFMC golf outing where we golfed and then ate Steak ON THE GRILL. Two great things that go great together. If you think none of this makes sense look at the name of my blog.

I have a spectacular Granddaughter who adores me ALMOST as much as I adore her. And most of all I have a Lord who loves me despite my being so weird and goofy. Jesus Christ is a friend and God who cares not where you have been and more about who you are deep inside and that you love Him and proclaim Him Lord. He is who I want to be. Some day I will be with Him and see him smile, Not because of the goofy face I will have on but because he loves me. That is good stuff to me.

Ted, why golf? Why not needlepoint? Why not curling? Why not a sport that will make your wife, children, and friends (esp. friends) a lot of money? Being a missionary for golf is crazy.
In the words of Dave Barry, "Although golf was originally restricted to wealthy, overweight Protestants, today it's open to anybody who owns hideous clothing."
